Claude Animation: Editable Motion, Not Generated Footage
Not a prompt-to-footage engine: Claude animation reworks documents and screens you already own into a compact animated artifact you polish scene by scene.
- From Documents to MotionFeed it a quarterly review, a pricing table or a setup checklist and it hands back something short and moving — an all-hands explainer, a chart for the board deck, a walkthrough for new hires.
- Every Clip Is Editable CodeEach result is an artifact assembled on the Motion template: Claude writes the code that shifts text, charts, shapes and images, and the whole thing plays back like a brief video.
- Change One Word, Keep the RestBecause the piece is code, a single word, number or timing adjustment can be made on its own while every other element stays exactly where it was.
Three Ways to Start a Claude Animation
Reach an animated artifact by any of these paths: request it in a normal conversation, open the Motion template yourself, or supply your own files as the brief.
What You Can Do With Claude Animation
Conversational edits, manual editor control, MP4 export and admin switches — here is everything Claude animation offers once your Motion artifact exists.
Edit by Chatting
Ask for changes in plain words — stretch the second scene, swap the Q3 number for 18% — and Claude adjusts the clip you already have instead of rebuilding it.
Take the Controls Yourself
Prefer to do it by hand? Open the editor and reshape the animation directly rather than explaining the change to Claude.
Export Straight to MP4
Choose Export, select MP4, and the finished animation arrives as a video file you can drop into decks, events or onboarding packs.
Private Until You Share
A new animation stays visible only to you; open it and hit Share to send it out, subject to whatever artifact sharing rules your organization has set.
Admin Switches and Template Controls
Owners turn Claude Motion on or off under Organization settings > Artifacts — on by default for Team, off on Enterprise until enabled, and restrictable to chosen groups through custom roles.
Everything Kept in Artifacts
Each animation is filed in the Artifacts tab, so earlier explainers, charts and walkthroughs remain there to reopen, revise or pass along later.
Claude Animation: Common Questions
What you need to know about Claude animation — which plans include it, how editing and exports work, usage limits and admin setup.
Where is Claude animation available?
Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise. Team plans have it switched on by default; Enterprise keeps it off until an owner enables it under Organization settings > Artifacts.
Can it produce realistic live-action footage?
No. It never calls a video generation model, so lifelike people and scenes are out of scope — what you get is code-driven animation of the text, charts, shapes and images in your material.
Can I tweak a single detail without starting over?
Yes. The animation is code, so ask Claude in chat to change a word, a figure or the timing — or edit it yourself — and the rest holds exactly as it was.
How do I export or share the finished clip?
Pick Export and choose MP4 to download it. An animation is private by default; press Share on an open one to pass it along.
Does it use up my plan's usage allowance?
It does — the work counts against your plan's limits like anything else in Claude, and a longer or more intricate animation consumes more of that allowance than an ordinary message.
What must an admin enable first?
Owners or Primary Owners first switch on cloud code execution and file creation under Organization settings > Capabilities, then enable Artifacts and the Motion template under Organization settings > Artifacts. Turning a template off leaves artifacts already built with it untouched.
Put Claude Animation to Work on Your Next Report
Head to the Artifacts tab or just ask in chat — Claude animation reworks your report, chart or onboarding steps into a Motion piece. Owners switch it on under Organization settings > Artifacts.
